In Discernment, two teams compete to decipher biblical and humorous Christian phrases written in "babel" — distorted versions of familiar phrases that players must recognize and interpret.

On a team's turn, the team has one minute to correctly identify as many phrases as possible. Each correctly identified phrase earns the team one point. When the time expires, the other team takes its turn.

The game is played over seven rounds, with the team that has the most points at the end of the seventh round winning the game.
