Dindex is our card game for 2 to 7 players, designed above all to be fun. You slip into the role of political parties and play as democrats or oligarchs. Your role remains secret.

As democrats, you try to get into government in order to earn government points and win the game. Without a lot of votes, there's nothing you can do. The temptation to become populist in order to manipulate voters is great.

The oligarchs also want to come to power. But they are not interested in government points, but in the abolition of democracy. Therefore, they must be careful not to be found out too quickly.

If you play anti-democratically, the democracy index (or “Dindex” for short) drops and increasingly harsh action cards can be played. If the democrats are not careful, the game will be over quickly.

We'll leave the moralizing aside, by the way. You'll see for yourselves what populism does to democracy. Slip into your roles and enjoy the game.

Our board games are made of wood. This is rather impractical for playing cards, so we opted for cardboard. But proverbially speaking, Dindex is really “harder than wood”!

Dindex ist unser Kartenspiel für 2 bis 7 Spieler, das vor allem Spaß machen soll. Ihr schlüpft in die Rolle von Parteien und spielt Demokraten oder Oligarchen. Eure Rolle bleibt geheim.

Als Demokraten versucht Ihr, an die Regierung zu kommen, um Regierungspunkte zu erhalten und so das Spiel zu gewinnen. Ohne viele Wahlstimmen ist da nichts zu machen. Die Verlockung ist groß, populistisch zu werden, um die Wähler zu manipulieren.

Die Oligarchen wollen auch an die Regierung kommen. Aber ihnen geht es nicht um Regierungspunkte, sondern um die Abschaffung der Demokratie. Daher müssen sie achtgeben, dass man ihnen nicht zu schnell auf die Schliche kommt.

Wenn Ihr antidemokratisch spielt, sinkt der Demokratie-Index (kurz "Dindex") und immer härtere Aktionskarten können gespielt werden. Wenn die Demokraten nicht aufpassen, ist das Spiel rasch vorbei.

Die moralische Keule lassen wir im Übrigen beiseite. Ihr werdet schon von selbst merken, was der Populismus mit der Demokratie anrichtet. Schlüpft in Eure Rolle und genießt das Spiel.

Unsere Brettspiele sind aus Holz. Für Spielkarten ist das eher unpraktisch, sodass wir uns für Karton entschieden haben. Sprichwörtlich aber ist Dindex wirklich „nicht von Pappe“!
