Behold the quaint and cozy halfling haven of Lorelei, a place so charmingly serene that even the chirping birds have perfected their synchronized symphony. But wait, what's this? A rumble, a tremor, an earthquake most untimely! Lo and behold, from beneath the very cobblestones of Lorelei's cobblestony streets, emerges a treasure most coveted – a Blood Crystal!

With dastardly glee, you shall plot and scheme, concocting cunning plans that would make even a gnome blush. Your goal? Why, to trample over the adorably unsuspecting halflings of Lorelei like a horde of slightly messy but utterly determined toddlers chasing after a particularly elusive ice cream wagon.

Players each take on the role of a nefarious Commander of one of the many evil factions of Alqarr. Using their Banners, Troops, and a handful of Tactics cards, they must make their way to the centre of the lands and claim the newly-revealed Blood Crystal, the so-called "Heart of Alqarr".

After six rounds of claiming territory, looting old ruins, and stealing wealth from one another, the winner is the Commander with the most Gold!
