China and the World Dance is a set of rules for the Rebellion and uprising of the Righteous Fists of Harmony or Boxers in an alliance with the Empress Dowager Cixi and her Imperial Chinese forces against the Foreign powers and Christians who are trying to slice up China into manageable partition’s to allow the riches and trade to flow into their coffers. Allowing players to recreate the open warfare and firepower of the day in a way that emphasises the role played by the Gentlemen and Officers of the period. Players will need to seize control of every situation, in order to win the day with the latest technical innovations from some of the most powerful Empires in the free world.

The Boxers will be controlled by a strict regime of charge and kill the enemy. No rallying or fancy tactics are involved, just continuous attacks that keep going for the kill.

This regime will soon tell on the Allies, making their mission increasingly difficult and thereby ensuring the players will need to help their fellow Legations. But just enough to avoid mission failure, as victory points will only come to those who put on a good show and personally seize the glory.

The rules use a card and dice mechanism, aiming to bring the fun and suspense back into wargaming. They are designed to allow large games with lots of commands and are suitable for multi-player games for an evening, or longer.

China and the World Dance aims to give a feel for the period and the way command and control worked in the war, where loyalty to your religion and Empire were as much a part of battle as good training and armaments. They make no claim to be overly historically accurate.
