Championship Drag Racing: 2018 Funny Car Edition is a statistical drag racing simulation game focused on the 2018 Funny Car season. Players recreate qualifying runs and elimination rounds using real-world inspired driver ratings, track lane ratings, reaction times, elapsed times, top speeds, and race events.

The game includes every Funny Car racer that qualified during the 2018 season, along with tracks rated by lane. Lane choice is an important part of the strategy, as each track can favor one side of the strip differently, reflecting the importance of lane conditions in real drag racing.

Races are resolved through the game system to simulate the unpredictable nature of drag racing. Drivers may produce excellent reaction times, red-light, suffer mechanical failures, crash, or set new performance marks.
