In This year nobody dies you play as teenagers in an urban fantasy world inspired by classics like E.T, Stranger things, Cobra Kai and Buffy, If you manage to survive for the whole school year you win, but will you be able to face all the strange dangers while making friends in clubs, money in your students Job and facing family drama? The game is based on a huge cooperative adventure book that you will have to read in rythm with your school calendar. It bring out a nervous narrative experience where every choices is capital...

You start with a calendar, a job and a club.

Job let you program work days in the calendar to earn money. Money let you buy stuff.
Club let you program club days to make friends. Friends can help you when needed.

There is a first story entry already written on your calendar (it is the main adventure). Your club and job will each give another story entry (they are your personal stories)

Then you start reading the entries. You make choices. You program them in your calendar for the following weeks.
All the stories move forward in parallel. Of course it is cooperative so you can help your friends on their stories, Coordinate to deal with the main adventure and judge each others choices while you listen to what is happening.
You can explain the rules while playing, start instantly with the stories. Most of the entries are kept short to keep a steady rhythm but of course when the emotional situation requires it, some passages will be longer (and pretty outrageous too)

Throughout the game you will receive stuff in the form of cards. These will represent important allies, tools, weapons, accomplishments and traumas you collect along the way. Stuff. It gives your character a sense of growth. And, In the rogue lite tradition. They will unlock new stories and bonuses for your next games.

New main adventures, new clubs and jobs to start the games with. Better equipment but mostly completely different stories.
