Carthage: The Roman Wars is the first games of UGG's Ancient Battlefields game series. Carthage: The Roman Wars is a unique historical game, which allows players to play stylized battles of the ancient times. The focus of Vol I is on the 2nd Punic War. As part of the game system you will experience with the tactical depth in fights, the historic terrain and environment. We ask for your indulgence that it is due to gameplay impossible to recreate the ancients one by one, but very well give a detailed impression of the ancient conditions. The game possesses a medium complexity and lies between Commands & Colors and SPQRTM (both GMT Games). It offer players who prefer a higher tactical depth and a beginner friendly game with an average playing time, a welcome challenge. The scale depends on the selected battle. In some scenarios an infantry may represent troop formations, in others only cohorts or a single platoon. From a balance between historical and game-technical aspects, a scale of 1:2.000 is chosen. The required tactical measures will harmonize with the advantages and disadvantages of the different unit and weapon types, and the terrain. The game mechanics offers mechanical and luck dependent elements, like the playing of cards, or the right die roll at the right time, and wargame lovers will enjoy the unique "Total War" (Creative Assembly, Sega, Feral Interactive, Activision, Crytek Black Sea) experience.
