Cadê o Boi? ("Where's the Ox?") is a board game for two players, ages 6 and up, with games lasting up to 10 minutes. The story follows the boi de mamão, a traditional figure from the folk culture of Santa Catarina, who has wandered off and gotten lost among the beaches of Imbituba, in Santa Catarina, Brazil. The players are the searchers. They travel across real beaches, laid out on the board in the same order they appear along the coast, gathering clues and trying to find the ox before their opponent does.

The core mechanic is dice movement plus card collection. On your turn, you roll the die and move your pawn from Morro da Antena, the starting point in the center of the board, exactly the number of spaces rolled. You can go in any direction, but you can't backtrack during the same turn. When you end your move on a beach, you draw the top card from that location. Cards you draw can only be played starting on your next turn, with one exception: the Trail Card comes into play right away, connecting beaches diagonally and opening up shortcuts.

Five types of action cards add strategy to the game. The Help Card adds to your die roll. The Travel Card takes you straight to a specific beach without rolling. The Block and Unblock cards set up a tactical duel: one player can close off a path to slow the other down, and that player needs an Unblock card to reopen it and keep going. There's also a simplified variant for younger kids that removes the Block and Unblock cards and uses fewer cards per beach, making the game shorter and more direct.

Winning comes down to luck and exploration. The Boi de Mamão Card is shuffled in among the action cards on the beaches, and the game ends the moment a player reveals it. That player wins on the spot and can even challenge their opponent to sing a boi de mamão song as part of the celebration. So there's no fixed path to victory. It all depends on which player has the luck, and the right moves and card plays, to reach the right beach at the right moment.
