Step back in time to a dark period in human history when frenzy and paranoia dominated peoples’ perception of ‘the other’, driving communities all throughout Europe to take the most extreme measures against their fellow man… or woman, as history would have it.

Burn the Witch is a party game of social deduction designed for five to fifteen players, whose job it is to root out every last trace of witchcraft from their otherwise wholesome village. Players represent houses that are comprised of two to four villagers, and are identified as either a ‘marked house’—i.e. it contains a witch—or ‘unmarked’. With witches constituting a minority of the village, their only chance for survival is dependent on the ‘marked’ players’ ability to outwit the rest of their community, and turn their neighbors’ paranoia and pyromania back onto themselves.

The game typically runs for 45-75 minutes and concludes when the villagers have either enkindled every living witch or else have condemned enough villagers to the stake that the unmarked houses no longer hold a majority, at which point the witch-hunt is brought to an close—the witches win.
