Brandish: The Duelist's Card Game

Angol leírás

Brandish is a card game of fast-paced, personal-scale, fantasy combat. Each player brings two decks to the bout that represent the weapons, shields, magic, and other armaments that they wield. The objective is to use the actions, strikes, and defenses made possible by your armaments to outmaneuver your foe and land the winning blow.

In Brandish, two players face off each with two decks representing their main hand and off-hand armaments, which can be weapons, magic, shields, or other combat techniques. The duel begins with a Clash, where players secretly select then reveal their opening card from the fixed starting hand determined by their armaments. This Clash determines which player takes the first turn.

On a player's turn they can play any number of Strike, Defense, and Action cards from their hand until they stumble or are instructed to "Pass." When one duelist plays a Strike card, their foe must block it by discarding cards from their hand. The duel ends when one player plays a strike that their foe cannot completely block.
