The forest is teeming with creatures scurrying and crawling everywhere! There’s plenty to discover not only up in the trees, but also beneath the fallen leaves! Use your magnifier strategically and find as many matching forest creatures as you can under the leaves. You might even come across some fruits or mushrooms. Only with the right strategy you will master Blattwerk!
In this tile-laying game, you play as one of four kinds of leaves. All leaves are placed face-down in a grid on the forest floor and in your turn, you can either flip them or swap them for other leaves. This applies to leaves of your own kind and, under circumstances, also to other players‘ leaves. If you place one of your magnifiers on a leaf of your kind, you score points for every matching animal horizontally and vertically adjacent to it. But since all players can score on animals adjacent to their magnifier leaves, you have to place your leaves cleverly, so that others cannot benefit from your scoring animals and you don’t miss out on the best spots on the forest floor.
Blattwerk looks like a walk in the park, but puts forward tactical depth, tension and a demand to think ahead.
