Stagecoach travel was a dangerous business in the American West. Roads were rocky, rutted, and sometimes impassable. Bandits were a constant threat. Black Bart was an English-born outlaw noted for the poetic messages he left behind after two of his robberies. Black Bart the Poet, considered a gentleman bandit with a reputation for style and sophistication, was one of the most notorious stagecoach robbers to operate in and around Northern California and southern Oregon during the 1870s and 1880s.
In this game, players take the roll of law enforcement officers trying to get the stagecoach to arrive safely to its destination but will also take the role of the outlaws trying to steal money, gold, mail or important documents that will earn them good money.

2 paths are randomly placed on the table with the location and destination cities cards.
Whoever is playing as the law enforcement officers chooses 1 stagecoach for each path. Afterwards and without the opponents seeing, the same player place the treasure box under the stagecoach containing either gold, documents or correspondence according to their choice. The player then chooses which stagecoach to move to the first location together with 1 officer card to escort that stagecoach.
It is then time for each player in clockwise fashion to choose an outlaw to rob the stagecoach.
After all characters are placed on the table, the first attacker plays an action card for the confrontation and all the other players do the same. The law enforcement officer is the last one to play an action card.
After activating the action cards, the results are calculated taking into account the power of each character and the characteristics of the place. Whoever obtained the highest number in combat wins the fight. If a thief wins, the stagecoach ends its course and the winning thief gets the stagecoach and the treasure box. If the law enforcement officer is the winner, then the stagecoach is able to proceed to the next location. If, however, the winners are the native americans, the stagecoach and the safe are dropped from the game.
The process is repeated until either the 2 stagecoaches reaches the destination or are robbed by the outlaws.
The player to the left of the previous law enforcement officer will now take that role and all other players will be outlaws starting the same process again.
The game ends when all players have a chance to play the role of law enforcement officers.
Each player counts all the value in cash, gold, documents and correspondence (each city has its own quotation) whether it has been stolen or delivered to the destination city. The player with the most monetary value in the end wins.
