A light strategic card game matching cats to the spots in the house they love to sleep in. Two versions are playable - a junior version for younger ages and all the family, and a more strategic version where you have to keep a close eye on what cards have already been played to beat your opponents.

In the junior version, each turn, take the following actions

Draw a card from the deck or from the discard pile (compulsory)
Play a Cat and a colour matching Best Spot in front of you, scoring the number of points of the Best Spot (optional)
Discard down to 4 cards (compulsory)

The first player to reach a set number of points in front of them wins the game. For a 4 player game, this is 10 points. For a 3 player game, this is 15 points. For a 2 player game, this is 20 points.

In the harder game, separate out the Spot cards and Cat cards.
Deal a cat of each colour and a joker cat to each player face up in front of them.
Put any spare Cat cards to one side – these will not be used again.
Shuffle the Spot cards and deal 3 to each player.
Leave enough room for a discard pile.

Each turn, take the following actions

Draw a card from the deck or from the discard pile (compulsory).
Play a Spot card on a Cat card in front of you (optional) matching the colour of the Cat card. The Joker Cat can have any colour placed but future cards must keep to the colour chosen. If you have 2 or 3 cards of the same colour you can place them together on a Cat card subject to placement rules below.
Discard down to 3 cards (compulsory)

Placement rules

If you place a 4 scoring Spot card on a cat, the next card that can be played on this card MUST be a 3 scoring Spot card of the same colour. Then the card after must be a 2 scoring Spot card of the same colour then a 1 scoring Spot card. You ONLY score for a run of cards at game end if you get that stack of cards down to the 1 scoring card.

So, you would score at the end as follows:
4,3,2,1 Spot cards of the same colour would score 4 points
3,2,1 Spot csrds of the same colour would score 3 points
2,1 Spot cards of the same colour would score 2 points
1 Spot card would score 1 point

There is only 1 four point card, 2 three point cards, 3 two point cards and 4 one point cards of each colour so be careful on your initial card placement on each Cat card.

When the deck runs out and there are no face down cards remaining, the current player finishes their turn and all players can place any Spot cards in their hand to their Cat cards.

Add the points up and the highest score wins.
