Battle Box - Napoleonic Wars contains all you need to play a game in the age of black powder in a small and neat tin box that makes it the perfect wargame to take on the move: 24 unit pieces in red and blue to represent armies of the period (each piece is an infantry brigade, cavalry regiment or artillery battery), a battlefield generator in 18 terrain cards to create a 6x4 grid where armies fight and die, 6 thrilling scenarios to jump into the period, 3 dice and 1 simple set of rules to read and play in under 30 minutes while still capturing the flavour of the Napoleonic Wars.

The battlefield cards are shuffled to create a random battlefield - or they are laid out as described in the 6 scenarios provided with the game - and players roll for random army composition; meaning that as a player you will have to adapt your strategy to the terrain and forces on the field.

Once the battlefield, objectives and opposing forces are determined, players act as Commanders In Chief of their armies by issuing orders (March, Fire, Assault) to each troop on the battlefield with the goal of destroying the enemy army (when their morale fails them) or achieving the scenario objectives.

The game introduces command friction in the form of Command Tests of increased difficulty. Players should focus their first orders on the most critical part of the battlefield, as there is no guarantee of being able to issue orders to all your troops (specially if they are spread all over the battlefield!).

Additional rules for multiplayer and solo modes are included, as well as optional special unit rules.
