The year is 1830. You and your crew were on an expedition across the Rocky Mountains. You made it to the Colorado River where canoeing seemed a good option. The rapids disagreed. Now, those of you who survived find yourselves in a tainted forest. You've lost most of your gear and will need to be crafty as you explore a cursed wilderness and forage for food and resources.

Try to keep warm on frigid nights. By day, face perils as you draw from a dynamic Event deck. Make a choice, then deal with the consequence. Battle unusually aggressive creatures, navigate rugged terrain, and get to the fort before the darkness that stalks you puts an end to your suffering. Grab your flintlock pistol and decide what kind of Pioneer you are in Backwoods.
