The object of the game is for each player to move all four of his pieces from his base area, make one circuit of the board and move onto his home area before his opponent. Both partners must get all their pieces home to win.

As soon as a player throws a six, on one or both dice, he can move one of his pieces onto the coloured start square outside his own base area. A six is required to move a piece from the base to the start square at all times during the game. When a player throws a six he is entitled to a further throw.

When an attacking player's piece lands on a space already occupied by an opponent's piece, the piece hit must return to base. The attacking piece cannot then move on in this throw. The remaining numbers, if any, must be used by another piece.

If a player makes a move which places two or more of his pieces on the same square, he has then formed a "BLOB". This means that an opponent's piece cannot land on the same square or move past the blob.

If a player has, at the beginning of a turn, a piece or blob on the square directly behind an opponent's blob, (or a piece in the base area, with a blob on his start square), he may be able to attack that blob.

The blob may be removed by throwing three sixes in a row. The player takes his throw and, if he throws a six, he may elect to move as normal or to attack the blob by declaring "ATCHA ONCE" (or twice if he throws a double six). He throws again, and on reaching "ATCHA THREE TIMES" he succeeds in removing the blob. If he fails to throw the required number of sixes, his turn is over. When the blob consists of three pieces, four sixes must be thrown, and for four pieces, five sixes must be thrown. When a blob on the start square is being attacked from the base area, an extra six must be thrown. In this instance, a piece can be brought out, if the blob is removed.

If a player moves a piece onto a space already occupied by a piece or blob belonging to his partner, he has created a "MIXEY". There is no limit to the number of pieces that partners can mix on one space. When partners form a mixey, they are very vulnerable to attack since if an opponent lands on that space, all the mixed pieces are returned to base. Opposing pieces can also pass over a mixey and continue on round the board.

When a piece has completed one circuit of the board, that piece must go home. The exact number must be thrown to go home. Pieces on the colored path leading to home may still be attacked and sent back to base. A piece on the home straight cannot be attacked in the usual way, but if an opponent's piece lands on the framed space at the foot of the home straight in question, that player may attempt a "SUCK BACK" on his next throw.

Similarly, the player whose piece is on the home straight may still attack any opposing pieces that land at the foot of the straight by declaring "BLOW BACK".

If playing doubles, when one of the partners has taken all of his pieces safely home, he can, on his subsequent turns, throw to get "WITH" by throwing a six. When he succeeds in throwing a six on his turn, he is said to be "WITH", and on subsequent turns he moves his partner's pieces.
