In feudal Japan, ashigaru were foot soldiers who aspired to the honor and status of samurai. In this game, each player takes on the role of a young ashigaru on their path to mastery, training in various dojos. To achieve mastery, they must train in four fundamental disciplines: swordsmanship (kenjutsu), archery (kyujutsu), spear fighting (sojutsu), and arquebus (teppo). Each dojo has a unique master, each with their own rules that will guide their progress. Using dice that symbolize the virtues of bushido (courage, loyalty, respect, etc.), players will improve their skills and advance in each discipline, demonstrating their worth and strategy to attain samurai honor. Only those who balance their proficiency across all disciplines will be worthy of the title of samurai.

En el Japón feudal, los ashigaru eran guerreros de infantería que aspiraban a alcanzar el honor y el estatus de samuráis. En este juego, cada jugador asume el rol de un joven ashigaru en su camino hacia la maestría, entrenando en distintos dojos. Para alcanzar la maestría, deberán entrenar en cuatro disciplinas fundamentales: la espada (kenjutsu), el arco (kyujutsu), la lanza (sojutsu), y el arcabuz (teppo). Cada dojo tiene un maestro único, cada uno con sus propias reglas y cuyas normas guiarán su progreso. Utilizando dados que simbolizan las virtudes del bushido (coraje, lealtad, respeto, etc.), los jugadores mejoraran sus habilidades y avanzaran de nivel en cada disciplina, demostrando su valía y estrategia para alcanzar el honor del samurái. Solo aquel que equilibre su destreza en todas las disciplinas será digno del título de samurái.
