AmendMe is a European Parliament simulation card game. Players (3–4) take the role of Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and must solve a challenge facing Europe—in this case, Russia’s threat to European security. Players tackle the challenge by negotiating a legislative proposal: a directive on strengthening EU defence cooperation and security policy. Each player represents one of four political groups—Ecology, Tradition, Liberty, or Solidarity—and receives a set of predetermined amendments to the legislative proposal.

Players take turns proposing amendments to the new legislation. They deliver speeches to promote their suggestions, discuss the suitability of each amendment as a group, and make decisions through voting. In addition, players must respond to unforeseen in-game events, such as political scandals, questions from the media and other stakeholders, or offers from political influence groups.

Players earn political credit based on how well the accepted amendments align with their political profile. They can also earn or lose political credit depending on how they respond to game events.

The game ends when all (7) articles of the legislative proposal have received exactly one accepted amendment. The player who has earned the largest amount of political credit has the highest chance to win the next elections and wins the game. If a player runs out of political credit entirely, they are expelled from the European Parliament and lose the game.

AmendMe is inspired by EP RPG physical and virtual games. Designed to be played in classroom settings by students aged 16–25, the game explains the EU legislative process to promote democratic values and civic engagement.
