あふはあふかは ("Ahuha Ahukaha") is a card game for three players in which players become guardians of the stars and aim to match cards using a batting-style mechanic.

Each round, players select one card from their hand, place it face-down on the table, and reveal them all at once. The order of play is determined by the numbers on the cards, and on your turn, you resolve the card’s effect and perform the “Star Matching” process.
Card effects include searching for specific stars or passing cards to the player next to you. The key to this game lies in using these effects to read each other’s intentions. However, the “Mazukohorikeru” effect—used to pass a card to the player next to you—requires careful timing: on the first use, the card is simply placed face-down between you and your neighbor, and it only reaches their hand the next time the same effect is used.
Matching is determined by comparing attributes such as the size and color of the stars. If you play cards haphazardly, matches will rarely form, leading to disappointment. It’s important to value every encounter in each round.
The 7th round, Tanabata, is the final round and introduces special rules. The 5th round is the point where you make your final strategic decision, and in rounds 5, 6, and 7, you’ll assess whether your strategy has been successful. A dramatic comeback is possible in the 7th round, so you can’t let your guard down until the very end.

One series consists of 7 rounds in which you use all 21 Star Cards. In the cooperative game, the three players are evaluated based on their combined score for that single series. In the competitive game, the first player to win two series is the winner.
You can enjoy the fast-paced feel of playing just one series in the cooperative game, as well as the tension of trying to outwit each other while gauging everyone’s intentions in the competitive game. Alternatively, if you don’t achieve your target score in the cooperative game, you can keep trying until all three players are satisfied.
