You are Commander Dave Bowman aboard Stanley Kubrick's legendary Discovery One and the last conscious crew member on a ship bound for Jupiter's moon, Io. Your onboard computer, HAL 9000, just killed a crew member, while you watched helplessly, and you disconnected HAL to survive. Now HAL is running on 1968 base code, and corrupted firmware patches from Earth are your only hope of rebuilding him into something you can trust with your life. You need HAL operational.
